ELIZA BREUCHAUD VERBECK

Mrs. Eliza Breuchaud Verbeck was the daughter of Mark and Jennie Breuchaud and was born in Greenville, Ill., November 25, 1857. She died December 19th, 1912, aged 55 years and 24 days. She resided in Greenville the greater part of her life; but in the fall of 1889 she came to Grinnell to make her home with her sister, Mrs. Louise Stewart. Here she was married to Carl H. Verbeck on February 14th, 1909. Two weeks ago she and her husband went to Greenville for a few weeks' visit. On Sunday, December 8th, she was taken seriously ill and underwent a surgical operation December 12th from which she never recovered. She leaves to mourn her a sorrowing husband, her aged mother and four sisters: Mrs. Anna Harris, of Pilot Point, Texas; Mrs. Mary Ford, of Round House, Ill.; and Mrs. Louise Stewart and Mrs. Emma Leidel, of Greenville, Ill.; and one brother, Charles Breuchaud, of Chicago, Ill. Her sweet and gentle spirit endeared her to all who knew her and she will be sadly missed. She was faithful in all the duties that God gave her, loyal in her friendships, and a humble servant of Christ. The world is better because she lived.
