Mrs. Dorothy Stratton, former Grinnell resident, late of Lake City, Fla., died May 20th in Baton Rouge, La., following an extended illness.

Mrs. Stratton was a native of Grinnell and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L.M. Verbeck. In 1944 she and her daughter and Mrs. Verbeck moved to Lake City.

She was employed at the U.S. Naval Air Station until 1947 when she transferred to the Veterans Administration hospital and since that time had been employed as a secretary in the engineering department.

Mrs. Stratton was a member of St. James Episcopal church.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Ruth Tong, Baton Rouge, La., and her mother, Mrs. Ruth Verbeck of Lake City.

Funeral services were conducted May 23rd at St. James Episcopal church with the Rev. John E. Banks officiating. interment was in Memorial cemetery at Lake City.
