SHARON L. POGEMILLER

Sharon L. Pogemiller, 73, of Omaha, Neb., and formerly of Grinnell, died at Bergon Mercy Hospital in Omaha on Dec. 27, 2012.

A memorial service was held Dec. 31, 2012, at Roeder Mortuary in Omaha. There will be a private family interment in Fairfield, Iowa, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Pogemiller family care of Roeder Mortuary, 2727 N. 108th St., Omaha, Neb., 68164.

She was born Oct. 22, 1939, in Grinnell, the daughter of Vel and Jim Hughes. She was raised in Newton, New Sharon and Brooklyn, and worked at McNally's Food Store and HyVee.

She married Jim "Poge" Pogemiller on July 12, 1982, at the Little Brown Church in the Vale. They settled in Omaha, where she became a long-term employee of Enterprise Bank. She enjoyed baking, shopping and a good card game.

She is survived by her husband of 30 years; her children Dennis Hughes of Colorado Springs, Colo., Rick Scull of Scottsburg, Ind., Michelle Hetrick of Omaha, Jackie Greenfield and Doug Pogemiller; 23 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Debbie Mariet and her brother, Larry Hughes.
