JOHN NOHRING DIES NOV. 13

John Nohring, 80, of Rte. 1, Malcom, died Friday, Nov. 13, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

A private graveside service will be held at Hazelwood Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Friends may call the Smith Funeral Home for additional information.

The son of Fritz and Emma Nohring, he was born on Jan. 11, 1907, in Norderstapel, Germany. He received his education in Germany, and in the spring of 1929 came to the U.S. where he settled in Malcom and assisted Delmar Hanssen as a farmhand.

He was married to Hazel Morrison on March 1, 1939, in Oskaloosa. The couple farmed in the Sugar Creek area near Grinnell and later east of Grinnell. They retired in 1973 and lived in Malcom.

Mr. Nohring was a member of the Grinnell Elks Lodge.

He is survived by his wife, Hazel, and five sisters and one brother in Germany. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
