RITES HELD FOR MRS. FISHER

Alliemae Susan Fisher, 77, of New Sharon died Tuesday Feb. 7, at Mahaska Hospital.

Funeral services were conducted Feb. 9 at the Assembly of God Church in New Sharon, with the Rev. Reuel Briggs and the Rev. Alvern Boetsma of Oskaloosa officiating. Burial was in the Woods Cemetery at Lacey, with the Harden Funeral Home of New Sharon in charge of arrangements.

The daughter of Chester and Martha Malloy Carriker, she was born Aug. 17, 1906, at Bucklin, Mo.

She was married to Gifford Hughes, who died in November 1941. She then married Alva Fisher Sr. in June 1942 in Unionville, Mo.

She is survived by her husband; her children, Martha Mae Shook of Grinnell, Arthur Hughes of Fort Smith, Ark., Anna Holcomb of Grinnell, Junior Fisher of New Sharon and Mary Stout of Oskaloosa; 21 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Dilley of Oskaloosa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Gifford; one son, Edgar Hughes; three brothers; two sisters; one granddaughter; and one great-grandchild.
