CHADWICK F. HANSEN, 23

Funeral services for Chadwick F. Hansen, 23, Victor, were held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Nov. 22, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Victor. He died Nov. 18, 2002.

The Rev. David McKain, St. John's Lutheran Church, and the Rev. Alan Hafner, St. James Lutheran Church, both Victor, officiated at the service. Burial was in Victor Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers were Matt Bayer, Luke Bayer, Michael Claeys, Shane DeGeeter, Sion Fontinel, Kyle Gray, Terry Hawkins and Matt Weisskopf. Honorary pallbearers were Austin DeBrower, Chase Hansen, Erica Hansen, Shane Hansen, Glenn Thompson and Brett Weisskopf. A memorial fund has been established.

Chadwick Freddie Hansen was born April 30, 1979, at Grinnell General Hospital, Grinnell, the son of Richard Freddie and Diana Roberts Hansen. He was baptized May 20, 1979, and confirmed April 4, 1993, at St. John's Lutheran Church near Victor. He was a 1997 graduate of HLV High School, Victor, and earned his associate of arts degree from Kirkwood Community College in 1999.

After graduation, he worked with his father in the concrete business. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting and, especially, trapping.

Hansen is survived by his daughter, Kaitlyn, and her mother, Deanna, Hartwick; his parents, Dick and Diana Hansen, Victor; two sisters, Erica, Victor, and Sherry, Brooklyn; one niece, Sarah, Brooklyn; his beloved dog, Spud; his grandparents, Phyllis Hansen, Victor, and Melvin and Merleta Roberts, Deep River; and his great-grandmother, Mary Roberts, Washington.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Freddie C. Hansen.
