PHYLLIS J. HANSEN, 84

Phyllis J. Hansen, 84, of Victor, died on Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2007, at Brookhaven Nursing Home in Brooklyn.

A funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 15, at St. James Lutheran Church in Victor with Rev. David MacKain, pastor of St. Johns' Lutheran Church, officiating. Organist was Pam Cronbaugh. Casket-bearers were Chris, Curt, Craig, Shane, Chase and Anthony Hansen. Flower bearers were Sherry Hansen, Sheila Scott, Kathi Wild, Melissa Parker, Erica Hansen Holston, Andrea Hansen and Jenna Hansen. Burial was in the Victor Memorial Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to St. James Lutheran Church in Victor.

Phyllis was born on Nov. 2, 1922, near Victor, to Floyd and Wilma Benton Fiser. She was raised in the Brooklyn area and graduated from Brooklyn High School.

On Feb. 7, 1944, she was married to Freddie C. Hansen at Denison. The couple lived in Victor, where she was a mother of eight children and a homemaker. She enjoyed reading books and baking pies for family, church and the Victor American Legion Auxiliary. Phyllis was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, where she enjoyed Bible study and Ladies Aid events.

Survivors include her children, Dick (Diana) Hansen of Victor, Dolores Wilder of Tallahassee, Fla., Doug (Dixie) Hansen of Grinnell, Dan Hansen of Iowa City, Greg Hansen of Guernsey, Gary (Brenda) Hansen of Victor, and Geoff (Julie) Hansen of Colfax; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Dale Hansen; one grandson, Chad Hansen; and three brothers, Wallace, Bill and Merle Fiser.
