HELEN I. HANSEN

Funeral services for Mrs. Helen I. Hansen, 92, of Brooklyn were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 4, in the Nevenhoven Funeral Home in Brooklyn. Mrs. Hansen died Friday night, Oct. 4, 1996, in the Brookhaven Nursing Home in Brooklyn.

The Rev. William Daylong, pastor of Grace United Methodist Church in Brooklyn, officiated. Marilyn Kriegel was organist, and casketbearers were Robert Willett, Lance Willett, David Willett, Max Willett, Bill Kelley and Max Montgomery. Interment was in the Brooklyn Memorial Cemetery.

Helen Iola Willett Hansen, daughter of C.E. Willett and Rose Belle Breniman Willett, was born Oct. 12, 1904, near Brooklyn, Iowa. Mrs. Hansen was a lifelong resident of the Brooklyn area. She received her education in a rural school. On Nov. 11, 1928, she was married to U.J. Hansen of rural Brooklyn. They made their home in Brooklyn and since June 5, 1995, Mrs. Hansen has been a resident of the Brookhaven Nursing Home.

She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church and the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her husband, who died July 8, 1984, and two brothers, William Fredrick Willett and Howard Willett.

Surviving are a son, Charles Hansen of Brooklyn, and nieces and nephews.
