HELEN POOTS LARRISON

Helen J. Poots Larrison, 80, of Newton, formerly of Grinnell, died Thursday, Sept. 30, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton of complications following a stroke.

Funeral services were conducted Monday at the Wallace-Pence Funeral Home in Newton with the Rev. Todd Schlitter, associate pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

The daughter of Everett Kelly and Mary Belle Bailey Poots, she was born Feb. 5, 1913, in Clear Lake. She was a 1932 graduate of Grinnell High School.

She was married to Benjamin F. Larrison Dec. 31, 1941, in Unionville, Mo. She had taught rural schools in Jasper and Boone counties and was an employee of the Maytag Co. for many years.

Mrs. Larrison is survived by one brother, Clifford Poots of Coralville, and a sister, Darlene Dunn of Des Moines.
