Funeral Services Were Held From
the Friends Church Tuesday
Afternoon.

Nancy Shaffer, daughter of Jeremiah and Hester Shaffer, was born in Van Buren Co., Iowa, December 22, 1849. When a small girl she with her parents moved to Lynnville, Iowa.

In 1868 she was united in marriage to William Clark. To this union six children were born. They are: Mrs. Wm. Bullock, Des Moines, Mrs. Elizabeth Ribera of Chicago; Charles Clark of Pence, Canada; Jeremiah Clark of Riceville, Iowa; Mrs. Bertha Newal, deceased; and Mrs. Mollie Lundy of Grinnell.

In 1892 she was united in marriage to Levi Medley, who preceded her in death three years ago. Since that time she has been cared for by her daughter, Mrs. Lundy, who did all that loving hands could do for her comfort and happiness. She passed away peacefully August 3rd, 1924 aged 74 years, 8 months and 13 days.

In early life she was converted and united with the Methodist church at Lynnville, Iowa and has endeavored to live a conscientious Christian life in her reserved and quiet way.

She won a large circle of friends, who with the relatives mourn their loss. Two brothers and one sister remain. They are A.L. Shaffer of Newton, John Shaffer of Kansas, and Mrs. John Zoller of Kirwin, Kan. Thirteen grand children and three great grand children are also left.

Funeral services were held at the Friends church Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock conducted by Rev. Orrin Hutchins. Interment was at Hazelwood.

Pallbearers were: Geroge Fry, Merlin Sparks, Andy Head, Mahlon Head, Clark Frost, and Mr. Stanley.
