Graveside funeral services were held Monday morning, July 6, at Brooklyn Memorial Cemetery, Brooklyn, for Lloyd F. Cleppe, 82, of Brooklyn, who died Wednesday night, July 1, 1998, in Grinnell Regional Medical Center, Grinnell. The Rev. William B. Daylong, pastor of Grace United Methodist Church of Brooklyn, officiated.

Lloyd Ferdinand Cleppe, son of Pete L. Cleppe and Carrie Weaver Cleppe, was born near Brooklyn on April 6, 1916. He received his education in Madison #7 rural school and the Brooklyn High School, graduating in 1934.

He farmed many years near Brooklyn, retiring in April of 1981. In recent years he has been a resident of Brookhaven Nursing Home.

He was a member of Corinthian Lodge #174 AF & AM. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and sports.

Lloyd was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Lavent.

Survivors include one sister and her husband, Gladys and Milvoy Haase of Belle Plaine; and two brothers and their wives, Wallace and Ruthlene Cleppe of Brooklyn and Larry and Holly Cleppe of Ames.

Nevenhoven Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
