PETER CLEPPE RITES
CONDUCTED SATURDAY

Funeral services for Peter L. Cleppe, 79, Brooklyn farmer for many years, were held Saturday afternoon at two o'clock at Bramer Funeral Home in charge of the Rev. C.W. Woollard, pastor of the Grace Methodist church.

Leo Shuler, organist, accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Keith Stahl of Malcom singing two selections. Interment was in I.O.O.F. cemetery with Milvoy Haase, Donn Haase, Dennis Haase, John Lavent, Joel Lavent and Duane Yount serving as pallbearers. Flower attendants were Mr. and Mrs. John Krumm, Linda and Renita.

Mr. Cleppe was born Sept. 10, 1885, at Ghent, Belgium, and died at his home north of Brooklyn Feb. 18, 1965. He had been in poor health since suffering a stroke about three years ago.

In 1892 he came to the United States and after living at Clinton for 12 years, came to Poweshiek county to start farming. He lived near here the remainder of his life.

He was married May 21, 1913, to Carrie Weaver of Brooklyn and five children were born to the couple. They are Mrs. George (Helen) Lavent of Kellogg, Lloyd Cleppe, Mrs. Milvoy (Gladys) Haase and Wallace Cleppe of Brooklyn and Larry Cleppe of Marshalltown.

He leaves his wife; five children; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. His parents and one brother preceded him in death.
