FRANK L. VAN TOMME

Frank L. Van Tomme, 57, of Holiday Lake, rural Brooklyn, died Saturday, Dec. 29, at Grinnell General Hospital.

The Funeral Mass was celebrated Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Brooklyn, with the Rev. Joseph Rogers officiating. Organist was Angie Hawkins.

Pallbearers were John Kriegel, John Meyer, Laird Van Renterghem, and Greg, Terry and Randy Van Tomme. Honorary bearers were Kenneth Headley, Maynard Heishman, Jack Mithelman, Jim Smith, John White and Delmar Willett.

Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Brooklyn, with the Smith Funeral Home in charge of arrangements

The son of Camiel and Eula Mae Gilbreaith Van Tomme, he was born March 14, 1933, in Brooklyn. He was a graduate of Brooklyn High School.

He was married to Dottie White Sept. 24, 1951, in Brooklyn. Mr. Van Tomme worked for the Hubbard Lumber Co. and in 1959 began farming in the Brooklyn area.

On Nov. 25, 1985, he was married to Jane Mithelman in Montezuma. The couple lived at Holiday Lake. Mr. Van Tomme was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Jane; his mother; two sons, Michael and Gary, both of Brooklyn; one daughter, Lynda Hawkins, also of Brooklyn; nine grandchildren; and two brothers, Dean of Brooklyn and Dale of Guernsey.

He was preceded in death by his father.
