MARGARET M. AKERY

Margaret M. Akery, 87, of Brooklyn died late Sunday, March 7, in Grinnell Hospital, following a sudden illness.

The Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Akery will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 10, in St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Brooklyn. Rev. Fr. Joe Rogers, Pastor of St. Patrick's, will be the celebrant.

The organist will be Mrs. Francis Kriegel and a special selection will be "How Great Thou Art." Flower attendants will be Mrs. Frances Griffith and Mrs. Marge Cannon. Interment will be in the the Brooklyn Cemetery.

A Scripture Service will be held at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 9, in the Nevenhoven Funeral Home.

Margaret M. Lacaeyse Akery, daughter of John and Erma Herbrandt Lacaeyse, was born Sept.10, 1905, at Atkinson, Ill.

Margaret moved with her family to Victor and Belle Plaine before moving to a farm south of Brooklyn in 1917. She received her education in rural schools. On Nov. 27, 1937 she was united in marriage to Mike Akery in Brooklyn. Margaret worked in restaurants, did housework, and did baby-sitting which she enjoyed very much.

Mrs. Akery was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and the Altar & Rosary Society.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband who died in 1965; three brothers; and one sister.

Surviving are her sister, Mary Noble of Brooklyn; nephews and nieces; and great-nephews and nieces.
