SUICIDE--A few years ago the widow of Frank Sanders, a former resident of this place, but afterwards residing at Udall, Kansas, married a man named Frazier who, with Irvin Sanders, conducted a store at Duncan, Indian Territory. A special dispatch to the Wichita Eagle under date of June 27, says: This town was awe stricken this evening by the finding of the body of Geo. T. Frazier, one of our leading citizens, of the firm of I.C. Sanders & Co., hanging to a tree about three miles north of town. Mr. Frazier has been in wretched health for several months past, which is the only cause assigned for the terrible deed committed. The particulars are as follows: About 9 a.m. Mr. Frazier got into his buggy and drove off, stating that he had some business with a gentleman living about two miles north of town. After being absent some time his wife became alarmed, and started parties out to search for him. After searching and making inquires to no avail until about 4 p.m. they discovered his body hanging from a deep ravine. He had evidently driven here and hanged himself with the lines with which he had driven his horse. Near the body stood the horses still harnessed to the buggy quietly grazing. News was immediately brought to town and quite a number of our citizens proceeded to the awful scene. An inquest was held over the remains and the verdict was that his death was caused by his own hands. Upon examination by Dr. Congers his neck was found to be broken. Mr. Frazier was a member of the Knights of Pythias, Odd Fellows and of the Masonic order. He leaves a wife. He will be buried by the Masons.
