THELMA TUSSELL

Thelma Tussell, 102, of Winterset, formerly of Grinnell, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010, at Madison County Hospital in Winterset.

A celebration of life service was to be held Thursday, Jan. 13, in Winterset with burial in Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell.

She was born Sept. 24, 1908, in Grinnell, the daughter of Sylvia Sloan and Paul Kissock. She was united in marriage with Oscar W. Tussell on May 30, 1942, in Seattle, Wash.

She had retired from the United States Government, returning to Grinnell in 1994. She had resided at Madison Square Assisted Living Center for the past four years. She was a member of the Delphian Society, National Republican Women's Association and St. John's Episcopal Church in Washington D.C.

She is survived by her cousins, Doris Lowry and Margaret Morrison of Grinnell and Al Smith of Clive. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Oscar.
