MISS NENINA MCDONALD

Miss Nenina McDonald, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M.C. McDonald, died at their home in Grinnell early last Saturday morning at the age of 24 years. She was sick just a week with pneumonia.

Miss Nenina was well known to our people. She was born in Oskaloosa, May 12, 1888, but within a short time her parents removed to Montezuma, and here her girlhood days were spent. Her happy and generous nature won and held a large circle of friends. During the past few years she had been engaged in teaching in the rural schools of the county and wherever she was employed she speedily won the friendship of parents and pupils. Last fall she began teaching at No. 8 Madison township and was there employed when taken with the sickness which so quickly terminated her life. Industrious and self sacrificing, knowing that her health was gradually failing, she always took no thought of herself and when being upon the bed of sickness was thoughtful of those around her.

A brief service was held at the home in Grinnell on Sunday afternoon and the body was brought to Montezuma the next morning. The funeral was held at the C.G. Adams home at 10 o'clock Monday. Rev. W.B. Wilson, pastor of the Christian church in Grinnell, conducted the service.

Those who were here for the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. M.C. McDonald, Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Coulson, George and Louise McDonald, members of the immediate family; Geo. McDonald, a nephew, from Harriston, Ontario; John Tucker of Shenandoah, Iowa; J.S. Tucker, wife and daughter, of Peoria.
