MYRTLE MULLINS

Myrtle F. Mullins, 92, of 433 West St., Grinnell, died of a heart attack Monday, June 14, at her home.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday morning at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Tim Stewart, pastor of the Grinnell First Baptist Church, officiating. Organist was Margaret Wheeler, and casket bearers were her grandsons, Charles and James Hill; Leroy and Lloyd Rasmussen; and Michael, Samuel, Scott and Stewart Mullens. Burial was in Hazelwood Cemetery.

She was born April 11, 1907, in Putnam County, Mo., to George Riley and Emma Cassidy Abbott. She was raised in Putnam County and attended rural school there.

She was married to Jesse Alvin Mullins March 18, 1921, in Unionville, Mo. They lived there until 1929 when they moved to Grinnell. Mrs. Mullins was a homemaker and worked in the housekeeping department at Grinnell College.

She is survived by two sons, James of Grinnell and Edwin of Phoenix, Ariz.; two daughters, Dorothy Hill of Brandenburg, Ky., and Mary Park of Twin Falls, Idaho; 21 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two brothers, Junior Abbott of Centerville and Journey Abbott of Davenport; and one sister, Ruby Hyle of Unionville.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one daughter, Leta Fae Rasmussen; two sons, Samuel and Cleo; three brohers: and three sisters.
