EDNA B. HAYES

Edna B. Hayes, 84, of Tucson, Ariz., formerly of Grinnell, died Monday, Aug. 29, in Tucson.

Graveside rites were conducted Saturday at Hazelwood Cemetery, with the Smith Funeral Home of Grinnell in charge of arrangements.

The daughter of William Lawrence and Myrta Bell Turney Squire, she was born Oct. 6, 1910, in Poweshiek County. She graduated from Mitchellville High School and, later, the American Institute of Business.

She was married to Forest Gayle Hayes May 19, 1929, in Waukee. They lived in Columbus, Ga.; Mansfield, Ohio; Phoenix, Ariz.; and Waco and San Antonio, Texas. She had lived in Tucson for the past few years.

Surviving are two sons, Robert of Tucson and Terry of Elkins, W. Va.; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Ernest and Lawrence Squire; and two sisters, Elsie Squire and Ruby Miller.
