JOHN F. ENGLAND

John F. (Bud) England, 74, of Grinnell died Sunday, Nov. 18, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Iowa City after a brief illness.

A family memorial service was held Nov. 21 at Grace Lutheran Church in Muscatine.

He was born Sept. 16, 1927, in Skokie, Ill., to John and Christine Rinderknecht England. He attended schools in Muscatine and was a veteran of the United States Navy in World War II.

He was married in March, 1948, to Grace Tuddy Mott.

He was a meat cutter and grocer and in retirement had worked at Godfathers Pizza in Grinnell. He was a member of the American Legion, Lions Club, Moose Lodge, Masonic Lodge, V.F.W. and the National Rifle Association. He also had served on the Olin Consolidated School Board.

He is survived by one daughter Donna Burmeister, New Liberty; one granddaughter, one grandson, one great granddaughter; one brother, Fred England of Grinnell, and two sisters, Roberta Diereks, Muscatine, and Beatrice O'Reilly, Tipton. His longtime companion was Pat Fankhauser.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
