LILLIAN M. HALA

Lillian M. Hala, 77, of Tama died of cancer Thursday, March 7, at Sunny Hill Care Center in Tama.

A funeral liturgy was held Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Tama-Toledo, with Fr. Keith L. Birch as celebrant. The vigil service was conducted Sunday at Mason-Hand Funeral Chapel.

The daughter of Lewis and Agnes Dvorak Fetter, she was born April 12, 1918, near Chelsea. She received her education at St. Joseph Catholic School and was raised in Chelsea.

She was married to Anton L. Hala Oct. 14, 1936. They farmed in Tama County until retiring in 1976. Mrs. Hala continued to live on the farm until moving to Tama in September 1995.

She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, the Council of Catholic Women and the KD Lodge.

Surviving are two daughters, Marilyn Hala of Reston, Va., and Natalie Hala of Oak Park, Ill.; two sons, Norbert of Dayton, Ohio,, and Roger of Gardnerville, Nev.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, John Fetter of Ackley and Tony Fetter of Walford; and five sisters, Adeline Wacha of Grinnell, Betty Tesar of Belle Plaine, Martha Van Horn of Plano, Texas, Georgia Duffy of Humboldt and Peggy Davis of Des Moines.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one grandchild and two brothers, Philip and Louis Fetter.
