ADELINE WACHA

Adeline C. Wacha, 78, of 207 Fourth Ave., Grinnell, died of cancer Saturday, Oct. 17, at her home.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with the Rev. William Reynolds officiating. Kyle Szary, organist and St. Mary's Choir will provide music. Burial will be in Hazelwood Cemetery.

A scripture service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Smith Funeral Home. Friends may call at the funeral home beginning at noon Tuesday, and the family will be present at the funeral home from 6:30 to ? p.m. Tuesday.

She was born Nov. 26, 1919, in Chelsea to Lewis and Agnes Dvorak Fetter. She was raised in Chelsea and attended St. Joseph's Catholic School.

On Oct. 4, 1938, she was married to Charles J. Wacha at Clutier. They lived in Toledo and operated the Toledo Oil Co. until the late 1960s when they moved to a farm north of Grinnell. They moved to Grinnell in the mid-1970s.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Surviving are her son, Lawrence of Garwin; four daughters, Catherine Inglove of Santa Monica, Calif., Mary Lou Pier of Yakima, Wash., Betty Jean Deischer of Overland Park, Kan., and Judith Wacha of Iowa City; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four sisters, Betty Tesar of Belle Plaine, Martha Van Horn of Plano, Texas, Georgia Duffy of Humboldt and Peggy Davis of Des Moines; and two brothers, Tony Fetter of Walford and John Fetter of Ackley.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister, Lillian Hala; and two brothers, Louie Fetter and Philip Fetter.

Memorial contributions may be made to her church or Grinnell Regional Hospice.
