FUNERAL THURSDAY FOR CHRIS BROADSTON

Funeral services for a native of Montezuma, Chris Broadston, 68, will be held at the Turner Chapel in Cedar Rapids at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 17, followed by graveside services in Montezuma at the Jackson Township Cemetery at 3:30 p.m.

Mr. Broadston died Monday, March 14, in Cedar Rapids where he had lived for the past 30 years.

He was born in Montezuma on June 24, 1897. On Nov. 3, 1955, he was married to the former Orvilla M. Chehak in Iowa City.

He is survived by his wife; two children, Virginia Broadston and James of Cedar Rapids; three brothers, Cliff of Montezuma, Ralph of Des Moines and Harold of Bryon, Ill.; a sister, Mrs. Carl Coffey of Montezuma; and three grandchildren.

Mr. Broadston was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. B.J. Broadston, and one brother, Arthur. Mr. Broadston's first wife, the former Bess Williams, died in 1930. In 1934 he was married to the former Ruth Bousum. She preceded him in death in 1953.
