Lucille was born January 31, 1934, in Malcom, the daughter of Lester and Eva Grace Tish Snook. She was raised in Montezuma and was a 1951 graduate of Montezuma High School.

On June 21, 1953, she was united in marriage to William W. Tish, in Montezuma. The couple lived in Ames and Malcom prior to moving to Grinnell in 1956. Always known as a true couple, you never heard one name without the other, and they were known by either, Walt and Ceil, Bill and Lucille or Sonny and Lucille depending on how you knew them.

They started their business, Tish TV Sales and Service in Grinnell in the 1960s and it's still currently run by their son, Bill Tish.

Lucille was a member of the Grinnell Christian Church. She was active in Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts and also sponsored a slow pitch softball team. She enjoyed doing puzzles, playing games with her grandchildren and spending time with her siblings and extended family. She spent many hours gardening and canning her produce and for many years she enjoyed listening to country music at the Lake Rathbun Country Music Show. She was an avid fan of MLB World Series.
