GLENNA 'POLLY' JOLLY

Glenna "Polly" Jolly, 87, died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2007, at Mayflower Homes Health Care Center.

In accordance with her wishes, no public memorial service is planned. Her body has been cremated.

Glenna Pauline Forinash was born Jan. 28, 1920, in West Chester, Iowa, the daughter of Fred Cleveland and Blanche Susan Miller Forinash. She graduated from West Chester High School and attended nurses' training at the University of Iowa. She was united in marriage with Lewis Foster Jolly of Waterloo on Dec. 28, 1939, in the Little Brown Church in Nashua.

She was an antique dealer and opened one of the first shops in West Des Moines, "Polly's Antiques," on Railroad Street in 1962. She was the first president of Grant Wood chapter of Questors in Des Moines. Moving to Connecticut in 1968, she opened "Polly's Antiques" in Hamden, Conn., which she ran for 19 years before retiring in 1987 to Sun City West, Ariz. She and her husband continued to sell antiques in Phoenix, Ariz., until moving to Grinnell in 2004 with their beloved English Bulldog, Blanche, to be closer to their children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 68 years, Lewis; four daughters and sons, Polly McNeill, Algona; Catherine Benham, Derby, England; Lewis Jolly, Des Moines, and James Jolly, Grinnell; ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Troy Forinash.
