BERTHA MAE HARPER

Bertha Mae Harper was born June 16, 1881 in Grinnell, and died Nov. 9, 1952 at 6:20 a.m. at the age of 71 yrs, 4 months and 23 days.

She was united in marriage to John L.W. Harper June 24, 1903 in Grinnell, and to this union were born five daughters, Mrs. Minnie McDonald of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Hattie Shaw of Tama, who preceded her in death in 1946, Mrs. Mildred Golwitzer of Rockford, Ill., Mrs. Nettie Kingsley of Grinnell and Mrs. Flossie Miller of Rockford, Ill.

This union was broken by the death of her husband in February of 1940. Other survivors are her mother, Mrs. E.L. Reed of Grinnell, three sisters, Mrs. Flossie Younkers of Monroe, Mrs. Elsie Bammer of Pequot, Minn., and Mrs. Eva Vice of Galesburg, Ill., and three brothers, Mack Reed of Kellogg, Harvey Reed of Wallace, Idaho, and Floyd Reed. There are also nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.

She was a faithful Christian and attended the Assembly of God Church when able. For the past two years she was a member of the Assembly of God Extension Department of the Sunday School.
