80 YEARS DIES

Mrs. Allie Belle Peters, native of Malcom, died at Grinnell Thursday, Oct. 16, following a short illness. She was 80 years old.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at James Funeral Home at Grinnell with Rev. C.E. Kingsley, pastor of the First Baptist church officiating. Burial was in Ivy Hill cemetery at Malcom.

Daughter of Edward Ruthven and Sarah Bullock Chase, Mrs. Peters was born February 2, 1874 at Malcom, the youngest of seven children of the pioneer family.

She was married to William J. Peters and resided in the Grinnell area most of her lifetime. Since death of her husband, she had spent much time visiting her different children and their families from New York to California.

Surviving are five children, Sherman F. Peters of Rochester, New York, Ernest Peters of Westminster, Calif., Eva Van Draska, Inglewood, Calif., Glen Peters of Compton, Calif., and Mrs. Myrna Young of Grinnell.

Other survivors are four grandchildren, Vivian Ellis, Kenneth, Edward and Glenda Peters; two great grandchildren, Michael and David Ellis.

Preceding her in death were five children, Floyd, Ray, Roy, Hazel and Rose; two grandchildren, Larry and Colleen Peters; and two sisters, Mrs. Eve Neville, Mrs. Elizabeth Neville; and a brother, George Chase.

At the final rites music was by Mrs. Carl Paxon and Mrs. Dolph Miller. Casket bearers were Leo Wright, Don Sparks, Wm. Mumford, Harold Haines, Henry Kroger and W.C. Parmley.
