--Died, of apoplexy, near Avoka, Ark., May 6th, 1898, Selden G. Page, aged about 65 years. Mr. Page was born in Conn. and moved with his parents to Ohio in his early youth. In 1854 he came to Grinnell, driving a team through from Ohio, for Mr. Homer Hamlin. In the fall of 1856 he was married to Martha E. Hays, daughter of John T. Hays. In 1858 he moved to his farm in Chester twp. where he lived or many years, beloved and respected for his many virtues by all who knew him. In 1875 he moved to Nebraska, where he lived until about five years ago when he removed with his family to Arkansas. He was one of the constituent members of the Baptist church of Grinnell, and remained a consistent member of that denomination until his death.
