RITES THURSDAY
FOR MRS. WAGNERFuneral services ere held at the McAninch Chapel in Victor Thursday afternoon for Mrs. William Wagner of Brooklyn who died early Tuesday at St. Luke's hospital, Cedar Rapids, where she had been taken Monday. She was 64 years old.
Rev. C.W. Woollard of the Brooklyn Methodist church officiated and burial was in the Guernsey cemetery. Casket bearers were Arnold Gwin, Donald Brau, Ira Henry, Lee King, Lynn Buske and Marion Baustian. Music was provided by Mrs. George Keller.
Hedwig K. Knapp, daughter of Gottlieb and Christian Knapp, was born in Betsinger, Germany, Jan. 16, 1902. at the age of three years she came to the state of Washington where she received her education.
In 1924 she was united in marriage to Robert Green. To this union three children were born. In 1933 they came to Manning where they lived until 1937. They moved to a farm north of Brooklyn where they farmed until 1939. They then moved to the Guernsey community.
On Aug. 10, 1953 she was united in marriage to William Wagner of Guernsey. They made their home in the Guernsey community until Dec., 1965 when they moved to 229 Linden court, Brooklyn.
Mrs. Wagner was a member of the Guersney Methodist church and the W.S.C.S. society for many years.
She is survived by her husband, William Wagner of Brooklyn, one son Donald G. Green of Des Moines, two daughters, Mrs. Walter (Patricia) Fankhauser of Tipton, and Mrs. Leland (Joanne) Christopherson of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Eldon LePere, Mrs. Dean Armstrong, both of Harrington, Wash. and Mrs. Cecil Longmore of Postage, Ind.; two brothers, Karl Knapp of Mohler, Wash. and George F. Knapp of Harrington, Wash.
Mrs. Wagner was preceded in death by her parents.
