FUNERAL TUESDAYFuneral services for Mrs. N.W. McDonald, who died last Tuesday in the hospital in Montezuma after a two weeks' illness, were conducted at the home and at the Malcom M.E. church Friday afternoon. The services were in charge of the Rev. P.D. Aldershof, pastor of the Malcom Methodist Episcopal church. Special music was furnished by a quartet composed of Misses Leda Davis, Luella Woods, Frances Haberer and Mrs. Helen Taylor. Mrs. C.T. Scott and Miss Vesta Scott sang a duet. Miss Scott also sang a number at the grave. Interment was made in Ivy Hill cemetery near Malcom.
Mrs. N.W. McDonald was born April 2, 1888, and departed this life Aug. 23, 1932, at 11.05 p.m., aged 44 years, 4 months and 21 days.
She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Edward Griffin and came to this county 31 years ago from Illinois.
Mrs. McDonald had a rural school education. She was united in marriage June 16, 1910 with N.W. McDonald at her parents' home one mile west of Malcom, remaining there until they went to their own home.
She became a member of the Malcom M.E. church in 1915,, and was a faithful attendant as long as it was possible for her to be present. She was also a member of the H.G.L. club of Scott township.
She was a kind and loving mother, always cheerful and thoughtful of the wants of her family.
She leaves to mourn her loss her husband; three sons, Glen, Elmer and John; and two daughters, Sadie and Viola; and a large number of relatives and friends.
