--Amos White died Saturday morning at his home in the city of apoplexy. The funeral services were conducted from the house Sunday afternoon by Rev. W.P. Stoddard. Mr. White was born on St. Johns Island in the St. Lawrence river seventy-one years ago and had been a resident of Iowa twenty-three years. When yet a child he was stricken with a fever which deprived him through life of the sense of hearing. His other faculties were vigorous.
