NATIVE, DIESMrs. Minnie White, widow of Almon White and a native of the Grinnell community, died at Montezuma on Wednesday, July 27. She was 82 years old.
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at two o'clock from James Funeral Home with Rev. E.E. Beattie officiating. Interment will be in Hazelwood cemetery.
Daughter of Martha and Michael Kennedy, Minnie Belle was born August 8, 1872 on a farm just west of Grinnell in Jasper county in the Rock Creek neighborhood, where she was reared and educated in rural schools.
She was married to Almon A. White, Feb. 15, 1899 and they lived near Kellogg when first married, later moving to a farm west of Grinnell where their children were born and reared. Her husband died on Aug. 9, 1933.
Surviving are four children, Miss Ruth White of Montezuma, Mrs. Joe Anderson of Kellogg, Raymond and Earnest White of Grinnell. Six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by two other children, Richard, age 6 months, and Mrs. John Donnon.
Of a family of 9 brothers and sisters, one sister, Mrs. Lydia See of Buhl, Idaho, survives.
