SERVICES HELD

Howard M. Arment, 81, a former Poweshiek County resident and a 24-year resident of Ft. Collins, Colo., died Jan. 31 at a Ft. Collins nursing home where he had been a patient since December 1977.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Warren Funeral Home, with burial at Rest Haven Memory Gardens.

The son of George and Nellie Arment, he was born April 4, 1897, at his parents' home in Poweshiek County. He was married to Verna A. Wood on Aug. 6, 1919, in Montezuma. They lived in that area for 36 years.

Mr. Arment was engaged in farming and the construction business during the years he lived in Iowa. Mr. and Mrs. Arment moved to Ft. Collins in 1955.

Survivors include his wife, Verna; two sons, Leonard and Raymond Arment; three grandsons; one great-grandson; three great-granddaughters; three brothers, Myrle, Francis and George Arment; and a sister, Ethyl Lane. He was preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters and a grandson.
