LINDA K. THOMPSON

Linda K. Thompson, 61, of Grinnell, died on Monday, Dec. 12, 2011, at her home.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 17, at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell. There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be directed to the Linda K. Thompson Memorial Fund and sent in care of the Smith Funeral Home, PO Box 368, Grinnell, Iowa 50112.

Linda was born on May 18, 1950, in Newton, the daughter of Leonard and Lola Lane Springer. She attended school there. Linda married to Rex Rayford Thompson on June 20, 1970 in Newton. They lived in Newton, before moving to Grinnell in 1974.

She was a cook who enjoyed making candy and even several wedding cakes. She would also crochet rugs, blankets and even Christmas ornaments for the tree.

She is survived by her children James Thompson of Grinnell, Lola Richards of Fort Dodge, John Thompson of Grinnell and Shandy Tuttle of Kellogg; ten grandchildren; and three great grandchildren and a fourth one on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rex; her brother, John Buckroyd; and a sister Mary Enlow.
