France E. Tee, 84, of Grinnell, died on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011, at St. Francis Manor in Grinnell.
No services were held, Smith Funeral Home of Grinnell handled the arrangements.
She was born Dec. 3, 1926, in Brooklyn, to J. and Carrie Nelson Stewart. She was raised in Brooklyn and graduated from Brooklyn High School with the Class of 1944.
She lived in Des Moines for many years and worked in the underwriting department of Banker's Life Insurance Company. Following her retirement she moved to Brooklyn and later moved to Grinnell.
She is survived by one daughter, Kathy Jones of Russellville, Ala.; two sons, Richard Whitfield of Magnolia, Miss., and Raymond Whitfield of Lawton, Okla.; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother; and one sister.
