THOMAS MCKEAG
DIES SUNDAY

Thomas McKeag of Decorah, Ia., a former resident of the Ewart and Grinnell vicinities passed away at his home early Sunday morning, April 10. Funeral services will be held at the home of the late John McKeag, 524 High street, on Wednesday morning at 10:30 o'clock. Interment will be at Pleasant Hill cemetery at Ewart. The deceased was a cousin of Mrs. Sarah Cleland of Ewart, Mrs. Mary Grant of this city and of the late John McKeag.

Thomas McKeag was born Dec. 10, 1865, in the parish of Bally Butte, County Down, Ireland, and died April 10, 1932, at his home in Decorah, Iowa, aged 66 years and four months. Mr. McKeag came to this country at the age of 21 and engaged in farming several years. He was married June 26, 1895, to Sophia Enerson at Grinnell, Iowa, who survives him. To this union eight children were born, seven of whom are living; one Margaret C., died in infancy. The other children are: Charles F. of Lincoln, Neb., John J. and Clarence H. of Manchester, Elsie V. Miller of Chicago, Ill., William R. of Newton, Ernest R. of Binghamton, N.Y., and Clara E. of Portland, Ore. He is also survived by one sister, Miss Margaret McKeag of Waterloo.

Mr. McKeag has been engaged in the bakery business since 1908. He started the Manchester Bakery at Manchester in 1915, which institution is now operated by John McKeag. He started the Decorah bakery in 1920 where he lived until his death at 2 a.m., Sunday, April 10.
