RITES SLATED FOR
MISS DELZIA GROSS

Miss Delzia Mae Gross, 88, of 615 Broad Street, died at a local hospital Saturday evening following failing health of several years.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday from the Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. Chester E. Custer, pastor of the Methodist church, officiating. Vocal music will be provided by Miss Patricia Williams and Steve Fritz, accompanied by Mrs. Rhee Auman at the organ.

Pallbearers will be Sidney L. Gross, Elton L. Gross, Donald McCurdy, Harold Tice, Lehrl Fritz, and Charles Fritz. Interment will be in Ivy Hill cemetery at Malcom.

The daughter of Foy Gross and Susan McNabb Gross, she was born south of Malcom on Dec. 22, 1875. She attended the Malcom public schools and later was employed in a ready-to-wear store at Beatrice, Neb., for 20 years.

Following retirement, she moved from Beatrice to Chicago, Ill., where she made her home with a niece, Mrs. Blanche Hornbeck Mulder for two years. In 1940, she moved to Grinnell where she had resided since.

Miss Gross was a member of the Grinnell Methodist church.

Survivors include four nephews: Representative H.R. Gross of Washington, D.C., Lester O. Gross of Mississippi, Elton L. Gross of Strawberry Point, and Sidney L. Gross of Osceola; three nieces, Mrs. W.H. (Marie) Rule of Sacramento, Calif., Mrs. Lillian Underwood of Long Beach, Calif., and Mrs. Blanche Hornbeck Mulder of Chicago; and one cousin, Mrs. W.E. (Elizabeth) McCurdy of Oskaloosa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, five sisters, and two half-brothers.
