MRS. C.N. DAWLEY

Mabel M. Russell was born July 13, 1869, near Inland, Cedar county, Iowa. She moved with her father's family to Grinnell, Iowa, in September, 1889; was married to C.N. Dawley, December 2, 1891, and died September 10,1904, of typhoid fever.

Having expressed her belief in the Gospel she manifested her obedience to the same through baptism into the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ, of Latter Day Saints, when 15 years of age. Her comprehension of true religion was revealed in good works rather than many words, for well did the Apostle say, "I will show thee my faith by my works."

By her departure one of earth's homes has been robbed of its happiness. Three beautiful children will yearn for a kind and noble mother. A devoted husband deeply mourns a loving, noble, considerate wife. Associated in this grief stands a widowed mother, Mrs. S.A. Russell, of 503 High St., three brothers and three sisters, all of whom are present, save the eldest, who is detained on account of sickness in his own family.

What are words when we try to speak of what she was to us, or express the overwhelming sorrow her death has brought us, but we sorrow not, as those without hope.

The kindly expressions of sympathy by friends and neighbors betoken the high esteem in which she was held in her immediate community.

Willing, loving hands did all in human power. She has left us--"fare thee well"--for while the body is consigned to the grave to await the resurrection day, the spirit, that which made her brief stay with us a blessing to us, is in the care of a just God.

Funeral services were conducted from the house at two o'clock yesterday afternoon by the Rev. E.M. Vittum, the music being furnished by Mrs. Mack, Miss Bray and Messrs. J.C. Walker and F.R. Morrison. The interment was in Hazelwood cemetery.

The guests from out of town in attendance at the funeral were Elder and Mrs. F.A. Russell of Davenport, H.S. Russell of Spencer, Miss Florence Templeton of Winterset and Mrs. Ellie Murrison of Brooklyn.

---------

CARD OF THANKS.

We desire to acknowledge our appreciation of the many acts of love and sympathy so practically made manifest during our recent trial of sickness and bereavement.
