FLOYD R. DALEY

Floyd R. Daley, 80, of Sacramento, Calif., formerly of Grinnell, died Monday, Nov. 25, at Mercy San Juan Hospital in Carmichael, Calif.

Private family services will be conducted Friday morning, Dec. 6, at Hazelwood Cemetery. A memorial service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Grinnell Christian Church, with the Rev. John Epperson officiating.

There will be no visitation, although friends may call the Smith Funeral Home for additional information. Memorials may be made to the Hazelwood tree-planting project and sent in care of the funeral home.

The son of James and Rose McGinty Daley, he was born Aug. 16, 1911, in Phillipsburg, Kan. The family moved to Grinnell where he graduated from Grinnell High School.

Mr. Daley worked for the Surveying Conservation Corps during the Depression and served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was married to Mildred Malone June 14, 1937, in Corydon. Following their marriage, they lived in Grinnell where Mr. Daley worked for the laundry serice at Grinnell College, the Richardson-Phelps Lumber Co. and for 20 years, as a deliver man for Bates Flowers.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred of Sacramento; two sons, Russell of Sacramento and James of Miami, Fla.; one daughter, Rosemary Stier of Oregon, Ill.; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
