Morris D. Adkins, 88, died at his home in Seal Beach, Calif., on Sunday, April 29, 2012. He will be buried in Riverside Military Cemetery.
He was the son of the late Elma and Lester Adkins, and grew up on the family farm west of Grinnell. He graduated from Grinnell High School with the class of 1943. He served in the Army Air Force during World War II in the South Pacific. After the war, he and his wife moved to California where he worked at, and eventually retired from, Western Airlines.
He is survived by his wife, Hedy; three sisters, Gweneth Schmidt of Seal Beach, Calif., Colleen Wiley of Grinnell, and Beverly Wertz of Newton; and eight nieces and nephews.
