MR. ASBERRY
RITES FRIDAY

William D. Asberry, 57, of Montezuma, formerly of Grinnell, died Tuesday morning at University Hospital in Iowa City of injuries he received in an automobile accident May 7.

Funeral services for Mr. Asberry will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Hugh A. Shiveley, pastor of the Grinnell First Baptist Church, officiating.

Burial will be at Lower Blue Point Cemetery southeast of Grinnell.

The son of Lewis and Dora Bridgman Asberry, he was born April 22, 1920, at Monticello, Ky. He moved to Iowa with his family in 1933 and lived in the Grinnell and Rock Creek areas. Mr. Asberry was employed by the maintenance department at Grinnell College for the past ?8 years.

Survivors include his children, William Oliver Asberry of Montezuma, Dwight D. Asberry of Newburg, Mrs. Joe (Linda) Giest of Wichita, Kan., Lonnie Ray Asberry of Grinnell, Cheryl Kay Asberry of Wichita, and Jimmie Loyd Asberry of rural Montezuma; three grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Ted (Lillian) Criswell, Mrs. Howard (Lucille) Hiner, Mrs. Henry (Eva) Fortner, and Mrs. Neva Van Gorp, all of Grinnell; and a brother, Carson Asberry of Grinnell. He was preceded in death by his parents and three infant sisters.
