When Mr. Isaac Wilson went to Sticklerville, Mo., about three weeks ago, for a visit with his son and other relatives, his many friends here little thought that it would be the last time they would see him in life. But it was so. He was in his usual health when he started but after being there about a week he was taken sick with typhoid pneumonia and in less than a week he succumbed to the ravages of disease.

Isaac Wilson was born April 3, 1835, in Indiana, and died Saturday, Nov. 9, 1895, aged 60 years, 7 months and 6 days. He was married July 20, 1853, to Miss Lydia Ann Sanford. By this union five children were born, three of whom with the mother survive to mourn the loss of a kind father and loving husband. Mr. Wilson left Indiana when quite young and went to Dayton, Mich., where he remained until 1869 when he moved to Poweshiek county, locating on the home place four miles south of Brooklyn. Deceased united with the Advent church when twenty years of age and has always lived a life consistent with his religious belief. He was ready and willing to go and almost his last remark was that he longed to be at rest. The greater part of his life was devoted to agricultural pursuits in which he was very successful.

The body was brought to Brooklyn for interment, accompanied by his son, E. R. Wilson, arriving Monday morning. Funeral services were held at the home Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev. J. W. Lambert, assisted by Rev. W. S. Kight after which he was laid to rest in the I.O.O.F. cemetery to await the resurrection morn. The funeral was largely attended by his many neighbors and friends, paying their last tribute of respect to one whom they respected and esteemed. The family have the earnest sympathy of the community in their great sorrow.
