MRS. VERSPILLE RITES CONDUCTED

The Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday for Evaline Verspille, 65, of 712 First Ave., Grinnell, at St. Patrick's Church in Brooklyn.

Mrs. Verspille died at her home Saturday night.

The Rev. Lawrence Vogel officiated, organist was Marilyn Kriegel, and vocalist was Sybill Kelley. Pallbearers were Marvin Lacaeyse, Gene Lacaeyse, Marvin Wauters, Marvin Goodrich, Marvin Schinckel and Gene Bartechek. The Rosary service was conducted at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Nevenhoven Funeral Home in Brooklyn.

Burial was at Calvary Cemetery, Victor.

The daughter of August and Emma Martens Cleppe, she was born on April 6, 1916, in Poweshiek County. She graduated from Brooklyn High School and later attended and graduated from a beauty school in Des Moines.

She was married to Henry F. Verspille on Nov. 25, 1935, in Brooklyn. The couple lived in Colorado until 1940 when they returned to Iowa. They farmed south of Brooklyn from 1952 to 1973, when they moved to Grinnell.

Mrs. Verspille is survived by her husband, Henry; two daughters, Yvonne Van Ommen of Grinnell and Irma Dye of Montezuma; one sister, Clara Verspille of Dover. Ark.; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
