FUNERAL SERVICES
CONDUCTED TODAY

Mrs. Marjorie McMillan, 43, wife of Robert W. McMillan of Grinnell, died Monday afternoon at a local hospital.

Funeral services were held this afternoon (Thursday) from Herrick Chapel at Grinnell College with Dr. Winston L. King, former dean of the chapel, officiating. Organ music was by Elbert M. Smith.

Pallbearers were Vladimer Dupre, Don Jones, Alan Jones, Luther Erickson, William McKibben, and Howard Rarig. Interment was in Hazelwood cemetery with Smith Funeral Home in charge.

The family indicated that memorial donations may be sent to the Mayo Association Cancer Research Fund, Rochester, Minn.

The daughter of Alvin and Harriet Jane Holsen Petty of Belleville, Ill., she wa born July 3rd, 1920, in Waverly, Ill. She graduated from Belleville Township high school and attended Washington University, St. Louis, Mo., and Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.

On July 25th, 1941, at Belleville, she was united in marriage with Robert W. McMillan. To this union three children were born, all living at the family home here: Mary Megan McMillan, Robert Jeffrey McMillan, and Jane Laurie McMillan.

After their marriage Mr. and Mrs. McMillan lived in Omaha, Neb.; Kansas City, Mo.; Carbondale, Ill.; and Iowa City. They moved to Grinnell in 1960 where Professor McMillan is chairman of the department of art at Grinnell College.

She was a member of the Entre Nous Club and the League of Women Voters of Grinnell.

In addition to her husband and three children, she is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin F. Petty of Belleville, Ill.; and one sister, Mrs. James E. (Betty Jane) Fender of Waynesville, N.C.
