BEATRICE M. GOLDSMITH

Beatrice M. Goldsmith, 62, formerly of Grinnell, died Monday, April 2, at a Newberg, Ore., hospital.

A memorial service was conducted April 5 at Newberg Friends Church. Private family committal services were held earlier at Friends Cemetery in Newberg.

The daughter of Ralph H. and Minnie Milligan Mattingly, she was born Jan. 6, 1928, in Grinnell. She was married to Myron D. Goldsmith, June 15, 1951, in Grinnell.

The couple served Friends pastorates in North Carolina, Massachusetts and Oregon. Mrs. Goldsmith was a legal secretary for the Oregon State Bar for four years in Portland before moving to Newberg where she served as bursar of George Fox College for five years. She later served as treasurer and business administrator of Northwest Yearly Meeting of Friends Church Headquarters for 17 years.

Surviving are her husband, Myron; one son, David of Newberg; a daughter, Debbie, also of Newberg; and one brother, Willard Mattingly of Glendale, Ariz.
