MELDREM, YORK, TINKLE, KROUSKOP

Olive E. York was born in Marion county, Michigan, October 20, 1878 and passed away at her home in Brooklyn, Iowa, July 21, 1936, aged 57 years, 9 months and 1 day.

January 15th, 1895 she was united in marriage with William N. Meldrem. To this union were born 8 children as follows: Clifford, of Malcom, Geneva Tinkle of Chelsea, Irvie R. of Malcom, Elton A., Edna Mae and Lloyd T. of Brooklyn. Two children died in infancy. All the living children were present when she passed away.

With the exception of 3 years in Wisconsin, the family has always lived in Poweshiek county.

About 40 years ago, Mrs. Meldrem united with the Brethren church in Brooklyn and remained in that faith as long as she lived.

She was a good mother, and a kind neighbor.

March 3rd, 1936 she had a severe fall from which she never recovered.

She leaves besides her sorrowing husband and children, one brother, Benj. C. York of Brooklyn, and one sister, Nellie Krouskop of this city. Two sisters and two brothers preceded her to the great beyond. There are 18 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends who mourn their loss. Funeral from M.E. church Thursday at 2:30 p.m. conducted by Rev. J. H. Freedline.
