James B. O’Harra, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas O’Harra, was born in Benton, County, Ohio, September 17, 1854, and passed away at his home in South Brooklyn, Sunday morning February 25th. On October 24th, 1873 he was united in marriage to Miss Celia Smith of Benton County, Ohio, and to this union were born eight children, seven of whom are still living. One daughter died three years ago, Mrs. Margaret Davis.

The living children are John L. of Tama, Nicholas of Columbus, Ohio, William of Auburn, Neb., Robert M. of Iowa City, Thomas E. of Grinnell, Mrs. Elizabeth Williams of Brooklyn and Miss Bernice and an adopted daughter, Mabel, both still at home.

In 1900 they moved from Ohio to Nebraska, and then came to Poweshiek county, this state, and four years ago the O’Harras came to Brooklyn where they have made their home.

Mr. O’Harra has lived an exemplary life, industrious, honest and a kind and loving father and husband, was beloved by all who knew him and his passing will be greatly missed.

Funeral services were conducted from the Methodist church at two o’clock Tuesday by the Rev. W. J. Fowler.
