Death of Mrs. Lulu Reed Hart
Was Born in Brooklyn and Spent Girlhood Days Here
The Article Published Below is Taken from the Pipestone, (Minn.) Leader and Will be of Interest to many of our readers who knew Mrs. Hart as Miss Lulu Reed.
Mrs. Ralph G. Hart of this city, passed away Thursday morning at 11:45 o’clock at Thomas hospital, Minneapolis. It had been known for several days that her condition was very critical.
Mrs. Hart had been a sufferer for upwards of a year with tuberculosis and complications which the best of medical skill, loving care and the wonderful vitality of the patient, were unable to overcome.
The remains reached the city this morning accompanied by her husband, Ralph G. Hart, who had been with her at the hospital the past week, her father, H. H. Reed, and her sisters, Grace, Ada and Mildred Reed, all of Minneapolis; and her brother, U. M. Reed, and wife of Brooklyn, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held at the home, 213 East Catlin street, at 10 o’clock Saturday morning and the burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery.
The late Mrs. Hart was a member of the Methodist church of this city, but owing to the absence of the pastor of that church, the services will be conducted by Rev. E. N. Prentice, of the Presbyterian church.
Lulu Heath Reed was born at Brooklyn, Iowa, September 9th, 1883. More than twenty years ago she moved with her parents to Pipestone, and had since made her home in this city. She graduated from the high school with the class of 1902. On August 20th, 1903, she united in marriage to Ralph G. Hart, who with six children survives her. The children are: Grace Lillian, Reed, Donovan, Leonard, Dorothy and David. Other surviving relatives are: father and stepmother, Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Reed, and the three sisters above, mentioned, all of Minneapolis; one brother, U. M. Reed, of Brooklyn, Iowa, a sister, Mrs. Ethel Sheils, of Stillwater, Minn., and a sister, Mrs. Wilma Hull, Omaha, Neb.
