RITES TODAY

Wayne E. Selle, 42, of Rte. 2, Grinnell, died suddenly Monday afternoon at his home. He had been in poor health for the past few years.

The son of George R. and Ada Belle Hoover Selle, he was born Jan. 25, 1930, in Grinnell. He attended Grinnell High School.

On Jan. 18, 1952, he was married to Shirley Mae Cook at the Little Brown Church. The couple had four children: Mrs. Edward (Cynthia Mae) Heck of Grinnell, and Burdette Eugene, Donald Wayne and Shirley Mae Selle, all of the family home.

Mr. Selle had lived on the family farm in the Westfield community all of his life. In addition to is wife and children, he is survived by his parents; one grandchild, JoAnn Heck of Grinnell; a brother, Raymond Lloyd Selle of Grinnell; and a sister, Mrs. William (Judith) Vonk of Arlington, Tex.

Funeral services for Mr. Selle will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, at the Smith Funeral Home, with Lloyd Smith of Des Moines officiating. Organist will be Mrs. Leonard Pearce, and vocalist will be Gordon Van Donselaar. Flowerbearers will be Mrs. Dennis Grovenburg and Mrs. Dick Saunders.

Pallbearers will be Robert Anderson, Dennis Grovenburg, Dean Hawkins, Ronald Probasco, Don Sarver, and Dick Saunders. Burial will be in Westfield Cemetery southwest of Grinnell.
