L.F. Selle passed away at a Grinnell hospital early Sunday evening, after a short illness due to heart trouble and pneumonia. Mr. Selle, who was just a few weeks over 65 years of age at the time of his death, was a well known farmer of this vicinity who has been living in the Westfield neighborhood. He was prominent in the I.O.O.F. lodge here, having been recently chosen as Noble Grand. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon from the Westfield church, with Rev. Robert Lincoln in charge. The local Odd Fellows will conduct the services in the cemetery.

Mr. Selle, who was taken to the hospital last Wednesday, seemed to be improving steadily, so much so that his son Verne returned Sunday afternoon to Chicago. Verne has been visiting his father for the past two weeks.

Ludwig Frederick Selle was born May 14, 1865 in Cook county, Ill. When but a year old he came to this community with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Selle. On April 1, 1888, he was married to Miss Cora Otcheck. To this union seven children were born: Mrs. Leonard Simmons, Mrs. Grace Decatur, Mrs. Rose Pierce, Louis H. Selle, George Selle, Verne Selle, and Clifton Selle. Clifton died in infancy, and Louis H. Selle, a World War soldier, died April 20, 1920.

He is survived by two brothers, Herman Selle, and William Selle; and four sisters, Mrs. Emma Jahnke, of Chicago; Mrs. Minnie Brenniman of Fort Collins, Colo.; Miss Anna Selle and Mrs. Marie Chambers of Grinnell. Three brothers preceded him in death, Frederic Selle, Henry Selle and Ernest Selle.
